Reporting into the Director of Finance and Administration, this is a pivotal role in the Fuels finance team responsible for the financial reporting of the entity’s significant inventory assets. Responsible for ensuring that the financial book stock is correctly recorded and reported for all of our clients locations.

You will manage a team that records all book stock movements and reconciles to physical stock and will work closely with IT development to identify needs, and coordinate and manage systems implementations.

You will ensure that all fuel purchased, downloaded and transferred is accurately recorded and that variances can be analysed at 15 degrees Celsius.

You will monitor the team to ensure the following ensured are properly recorded; goods in transit, delivery receipts, invoices and processing stock credit notes to recognize transport variance and other stock losses.

You will provide advice on proper recording of temperature, density and volumes in accordance with international standards

You will manage the monthly inventory closing process to ensure that the inventory ledger is closed in a timely and accurate manner and that all accounting records are properly kept and filed.

You will be responsible for liaising with external auditors on year end stock take, you will prepare the year end stock take schedules and coordinate with Auditors to ensure the stock take is properly completed.

Finally you will be responsible for challenging stock gains/losses to ensure that accurate information is kept by locations and you will prepare month end reporting to demonstrate the stock movements and gains/losses.

Knowledge and Skills:

The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Accounting or Business Administration and hold an internationally recognised professional Accounting qualification.

You should be an accomplished Accountant with some experience of inventory accounting ideally gained in the oil and petroleum sector.

In addition you should have knowledge of business process re-engineering, excellent computer knowledge (ORACLE / Financials, OLAP Database and reporting tools) and a good level of analytical skills.


The basic salary is paid in AED and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is a bonus earning opportunity which is also paid in AED and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

In addition you will receive 25 days holiday plus public holidays, health insurance and 1 paid return family economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client. A Relocation Allowance of USD 4,500 is available and also assistance with schools fees. A lap top and mobile phone are provided for company business.
