893 - Site Services Operations Controller

Our clients Site Services Division provides a variety of services ; construction of buildings and offices, general facilities management, fuel management, pest control, vehicle and plant maintenance services etc and is seeking an Operations Controller to be based in Dubai to be responsible for camp services, construction and maintenance at our clients sites in Afghanistan and Africa.

Working through a team of General Managers you will be responsible for managing the technical services of our clients operations in Afghanistan and Africa. This will include engineering and construction, camp services, maintenance and facilities management.

Whilst the position is based in Dubai there will be frequent travel to our clients sites in Afghanistan and Africa at a later date.The successful candidate is likely to be an accomplished Construction and / or Engineering professional ideally with military camp services experience or site services experience working in an engineering or maintenance department involving a diverse range of plant with experience of managing a maintenance team.
Your work experience should be supported with relevant trade qualifications from a recognised trade, training college / school or university. Ideally our client seeks someone with a Degree or Diploma in Construction or a relevant Engineering discipline.
Excellent project management skills supported by superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

It goes with out saying that our client is seeking someone who can offer strong leadership, has good commercial skills and can succeed where are others are daunted in what can be harsh environments

A military background would be very useful and experience of working in arduous or remote environments.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and ideally one other language and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

You will be resourceful with a flexible outlook, have the ability to multi-task in order to handle competing priorities and be able to fit in to an international dynamic and multi-cultural environment. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence.

The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus earning opportunity which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee.

In addition a company car is provided or car allowance and a one off relocation allowance is also available, 5 weeks plus public holidays, health insurance and 1 paid return economy flight per year. Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
