McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a renowned and fast-growing Accountancy Practice who are city-based and are looking to strengthen their General Practice team and recruit an Accounts & Tax Manager (or Senior Manager). With a team of 130 staff and 15 partners, the firm has an enviable reputation across London for providing a full range of professional services to HNWI’s and their related OMBs and private PLCs (up to £300m turnover). Depending on experience, you will be responsible for:

• Leading your own client portfolio, providing tax compliance services with advisory work as required for personal and trust clients
• Reporting to various Tax Partners, providing advice and assistance to them and working with Trainees on tax related projects
• Managing all aspects of your portfolio – including planning and execution of work, drafting correspondence and billing
• Preparation of tax returns, tax repayment claims and related working papers
• Allocating appropriate resources to ensure work is completed to a high standard, reviewing work by juniors and giving feedback to junior staff
• Providing ad-hoc planning advice to clients on their tax matters as required
• Acting as the main point of contact for clients in the portfolio
• Dealing with all third parties including HMRC, Investment Managers, Lawyers, Banks and other interested parties
• Assisting with business development and marketing, attending networking events with co-professionals

To be considered for the role you should be a fully qualified CTA Tax Professional from another Accountancy Firm with strong portfolio management, client relationship and staff management skills. The position will be made flexible according to the strength of your skill-set in Accounting, Audit and/or Tax and experience of trusts/estates, domicile and residency issues would be a distinct advantage. You should be confident dealing with third party advisers, handling HMRC queries, and have strong coaching and delegation of staff skills. As their client base is all HNWIs, families and related businesses, you should be very professional, credible, energetic, able to take the initiative with excellent planning, organisational and team working skills.

On offer is a salary up to £65,000 depending on previous experience and seniority within the profession and benefits include company pension, healthcare, flexi-time and 24 days holiday.
