Agriculture Solicitor

Solicitor (Agricultural) 5-6 years PQE, Cambridge

This prestigious firm has their roots in Suffolk going back to 1863 and is a long established and highly successful law practice. They offer a full range of legal services, with the exception of publicly funded Legal Aid work. With offices in Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge, and plans afoot for further growth, they are well on our way to achieving their ambition to be the leading regional firm in the East of England. Their core business is split across three main divisions - corporate and commercial; property and private client services. Within those principal areas of practice, we have established a number of industry groups covering sectors such as food and farming, logistics, the public sector, and social housing. Over recent years the firm has enjoyed exceptional growth in all areas. Total staff now number 275, 38 of whom are partners.

The Agricultural Team is the largest dedicated team in the eastern region with four partners, five lawyers and three executives. They serve farmers, landowners and those involved in agri-business on a wide range of issues including farm and land acquisitions and disposals, business structures, succession and taxation issues, diversification, bloodstock and public rights of way and access to land. They undertake support work to large City firms without the specialist skills the team has to offer, often for clients based overseas. An example of recent work undertaken by the team includes the £12m purchase of a Lincolnshire estate for Danish clients. They also advise on estate management for a number of landed estates. They regularly appear in the top tier of legal directories and, for example, are praised by clients in the 2008 edition of Chambers & Partners' independent client guide as providing a white-glove service to a demanding and sophisticated client base.

The Agricultural team is looking for a Solicitor with 5-6 years PQE(salary dependant upon experience) with private client experience. The ideal candidate will come from a corporate London firm or a large regional firm.
