Aircraft Engine and Parts Buyer - Afghanistan

Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider and using aircraft is a key part of their operations in order to meet customer requirements.

They are now seeking an Aircraft Engine and Parts Buyer for their Aviation Business Unit. The position is based in Kabul. Afghanistan.

Reporting into the Operations Controller for Inbound Aviation and Procurement the successful candidate will lead the sourcing and procurement of parts, engines and other materials required for our clients Aviation Division.

You will trade in engine parts and parts packages including the acquisition of consignment stock.

You will build and maintain relationships with aircraft operators who are potential sellers of serviceable engines and meet our clients goals for serviceable engine purchases.

You will also build and maintain relationships with additional sources of engine sellers such as financial institutions and meet our clients goals for purchase of unserviceable engines for teardown.

Knowledge and Skills:

You will need to be accomplished aviation procurement professional with good contacts in the aviation industry and engine parts sector.

You will be a strong opportunity generator, a relationship builder and a proven deal closer.

You should have excellent negotiation skills and able to handle the detail required in engine deals.

Knowledge of the former Soviet Aviation industry and aircraft is highly desirable.

You should possess excellent communication skills in English and Russian and be able to adapt to rapid changes in a positive manner and work to tight deadlines.

Superb inter-personal skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions.

Finally you should be PC / IT literate and possess a Drivers Licence.

This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Aviation Procurement Professional looking for something different. Whilst our Clients operation is somewhat unique they are in it for the long term and are looking for a minimum of 18 to 24 months commitment.

Basic salary paid in US Dollars & tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Annual profit share bonus payable. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance and meals are provided free. In addition employees have the use of a phone to call family and friends and also the internet for e-mails etc.

Western Ex-Pat employees will receive 63 days annual leave & working rota is approx14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off

Western Ex-Patriate will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
