Application Architect for ERP Systems (PeopleSoft HCM) & Interfaces cont: The role is well-suited to an ambitious individual who has a Management / Strategic Consultancy background but is now keen to make positive improvements to a forward-thinking end-user environment.

The role will combine provision of Functional BAU support, working closely with Application Management to ensure that business strategy is translated into workable functionality and business processes within systems, paying attention to the organisation’s Enterprise Architecture model. There is also an emphasis on Future Roadmap and Projects; working with the portfolio managers on delivery of agreed initiatives and to help set future direction (more detail is available on this).

Applicants should have worked in process, people and technology projects and have an extensive functional understanding of PeopleSoft tools and the business processes typically implemented within a professional services organisation and a minimum 6 years of IT experience, with at least 3 years experience in a comparable position. You should have strong business analyst experience and a demonstrate a background in using and applying a variety of business analyst tools to facilitate requirements gathering, analysis, business process modelling, stakeholder management, development of business cases, solution options and functional specification documentation for the proposed solution/s. Highly developed written communication skills and be capable of breaking down complex problems into clearly written logical arguments is essential
Core Competencies include Analytical Thought and Problem Solving, a consultative approach, involving a high level of creative thinking when seeking to understand, document and resolve problems, an ability to think laterally and innovatively where necessary. Displaying skills in a number of techniques to analyse problems and decompose them to their component parts in order to effectively communicate with business partners and team members. An ability to influence situations through the provision of information and advice on straightforward as well as more challenging issues, and a willingness to collaborate with other decision makers on day-to-day activities. Strong change management skills and awareness, with the ability to be able to understand and effect minimum disruption to the business are also required. This will involve the use of various techniques including communications planning and training. An ability to manage the demands of multiple projects, client’s requirements, vendors and deliverables by prioritising and maintaining a flexible attitude.
