THE POSITION

Application Engineering Manager

Responsible to: Director, Sales and Application Engineering - Western Europe

Responsible for: Application Engineers - 8 in Germany, 3 in the UK , 1 in Sweden

Purpose: To manage the application engineering function in Western Europe on all engineering projects for metal products

To take responsibility for customer specific designs

Key Responsibilities

Lead teams of application engineers based in the UK, Germany and Sweden

Manage customer projects across Western Europe

Ensure cost effective, fit for purpose product designs and on time project management to maximise the success rate of converting enquiries into commercially viable serial orders

Work closely with process engineering, sales, customer coordination, purchasing and quality departments at plant locations to ensure timely product realisations

Collaborate with product development and process engineering (industrialisation) departments to implement the launch of new products.

Candidates should have experience in design engineering and project management in a supplier of automotive components. Knowledge of APQP is essential, as is the ability to lead international teams.
