Application Server Support Specialist - AIX, LINUX, JBOSS, WEBSPHERE
Experienced Application Support Specialist Team Leader required to lead a small team of Application Support Specialists through the implementation and support of a very high profile IT project for a well known UK company. The application will run on Red Hat Linux and IBM's AIX so UNIX knowledge and experience is mandatory. The application middleware will be JBoss Application Server so excellent knowledge and experience in configuration and administration is vital. There are also other bespoke application components involved in the project so good general analytical and problem determination skills are required as well as a sound background in all IT principles and architectures (especially web based applications) The team leadership in this role will be of a technical nature (technical authority for the team, distribution of workload, managing technical issues), 1st line management is not a requirement although this may become so through progression of this role. Core Technical Skills Require: Excellent Knowledge and experience of J2EE Application Server configuration and administration (ideally JBoss v4.2.x or WebSphere 5.1+); Excellent UNIX shell scripting & Perl programming skills; Good understanding of J2EE concepts and J2EE programming; Competent UNIX skills to support middleware application on a UNIX platform (ideally Red Hat Linux & AIX); Good understanding of Relational Database architectures & SQL; Competent skills to access and interrogate backend databases via SQL; Good understanding of Java J2SE
