Application Support (Prime Brokerage)

City Based Investment Bank seek a Prime Brokerage Application Support Analyst. You will have strong technical experience with - UNIX/Solaris – Strong skills encompassing (General navigation and common commands required to diagnose system/process health, ability to troubleshoot batch processing by reading scripts and writing scripts for monitoring purposes). SQL/Sybase – All aspects of data updates, selects, writing adhoc reports etc. Previous Level 2 application support experience in Prime Brokerage is essential. Good Client Relationship skills, communication and inter-personal skills are vital for dealings with the PB business, senior managers, developers / technical staff. Solid analytical / problem solving skills are vital. You will be a fast learner who can build a good understanding of the business logic and system data flows. A logical and methodical approach to issues is essential.
The team is responsible for providing level 2 application support across Equities Global Prime Finance, consisting of 4 main business streams, Prime Brokerage, Securities Lending, Structured EQ Finance and Client Reporting. You will support this successful Prime Brokerage business and a newly implemented Global trading application, the role will often be fast paced, demanding and high pressured. You will be responsible for gathering knowledge from development and the product vendor, building documentation for support procedures, training colleagues and assist with the implementation of monitoring tools.
Activities are wide ranging but not limited to the following:
• Investigation/Resolution of batch processing/system data flow issues. Inc resolution of issues raised by upstream/downstream systems.
• End user support of application front end.
• Interface between business and development teams
• Client take-on, ad-hoc report generation
• System stability and monitoring improvements.
