Application Support Team Lead (Fixed Income)

City based Investment Bank seek an Application Support Team Lead, you will have a Technical Background with Sybase (SQL queries), Unix/Perl scripting, HTML. Excellent knowledge of Interest Rates Derivatives/Risk, Experience of Investment Banking in an application support function, Experience of working alongside Front, Middle and Back office Investment Banking functions, Comfortable with risk & P&L concepts for Fixed Income / Derivatives product sets, Understanding of analytics and pricing models desirable.
You will be the focal point of contact for Front & Middle Office providing both business and technical support on the core trading applications used within the rates business. Must be able to understand the complexities of the trading system from a functional aspect and align this with the business model. Ability to understand, troubleshoot and propose as well as and act upon the resolution of complex business and application requests and issues as they are raised through the Remedy ticketing system in a timely manner. Have good all-round technical knowledge and have supported applications in JAVA, C++, C# on operating platforms Unix/Linux and Windows. Experience of shell/Perl/python scripting and exposure to database SQL querying and troubleshooting (Sybase/Oracle).
Ability to take the lead and manage internal projects relating to the desk and track through to completion, in-conjunction with their day to day operational responsibilities and communicate progress back to management and business sponsors.
Act as a Key participant in application releases including testing, release procedures, liaison with development, infrastructure and user sign off.
Cross training and mentoring of other team members within the core rates support group leveraging all available resources to provide cover for the full business day.
