AREA HEAD OF GLOBAL MARKETS, WEST AFRICA

Leading Multinational Bank is looking for an idividual to be responsible for the Global Markets businesses in Ghana and across West Africa - the marketing, delivery and management of the Global Markets products in accordance with the Global and Africa WB business strategy. Involves working closely with Country CEOs, Global Product Heads, Country Global Markets and Origination & Client Coverage teams, Consumer Banking, and other product partners.

To work with Country Business Heads - to develop the appropriate delivery mechanism to launch GM products at Country level.

The Ideal candidate will have a sound knowledge of all Global Markets products with some trading room experience:
- Willingness to take measured risks
- Proficiency for evaluating market conditions and responding quickly, proactively and positively
- Broad knowledge of banking practices and local banking regulation
- Ability to manage and motivate staff
- Good analytical and decision making skills
- Ability to market and establish client relationships
- Ability to work in a matrix organisation

Responsibilities:

CUSTOMER & FRANCHISE MANAGEMENT
- Joint overall responsibility with the Area OCC Head (and country GM / OCC Heads) for the development, preparation, implementation and delivery of country WB strategic plans, working in close liaison with the country CEO and Global Product partners
- Coordination of customer relationships and country sales processes
- Identification of customer opportunities, both in-country and globally
- External communication including media
- Identification of in-country competitive threats and market opportunities, to feed into product strategy

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
- Area and Country GM & WB budget responsibility
- Provide direction, migrate best practices and challenge country performance
- Achieve and Exceed Regional WB and GM Revenue Targets

PEOPLE & TALENT MANAGEMENT
- Joint responsibility with Global Product Heads in the appointment and management of compensation and career for all Product Heads in country and within West Africa
- Joint responsibility with Country Product Heads in the appointment and management of compensation and career for all people who belong to the Country Product teams
- Joint responsibility for delivery of the initiatives supporting the WB Africa People Agenda

RISK MANAGEMENT
- Implementation of Global standards of risk and control, systems and processes (including compliance)
- Readiness of local infrastructure in line with Global standards to support current and planned business volumes
- Overview of all Country Global Markets dealing activities to ensure that market risks are taken within the agreed Global parameters which allow profitability and optimal capital utilisation
