AREA MANAGER - DUBAI
Our client is a general contracting company in Dubai that requires an area manager to be responsible for the performance of the Dubai region, including the profit and losses. The person will be responsible for the implementation of the business plan prepared by the executive director.
The role:
Responsible for the performance of all departments and projects in Duabi
Responsible for all operational aspects of his/her area: business development/project management/ procurement/cost control/planning/programming/resource management/plant & equipment, etc
Ensure that the quality and health & safety and environment management systems are established and maintained, and the continual improvement of all processes
Establish and manage the area expenditure budgets and ensure that sustainable profit margins are achieved
Ensure that KPIs are established for all functions and at all levels, as the measure of performance
Establish levels of authority and delegate authority, as appropriate
Continual liaison with prospective clients in order to secure new projects
Establish and maintain joint venture partnership relations to enhance the organisational capacity and capabilities for mega projects
Risk analysis and management, and institute appropriate preventative measures
Requirements:
Must have worked in a similar capacity in a construction or general contracting company managing multiple high-rise projects concurrently
An ideal match would be a person with around 15 years of experience in a similar capacity in UAE or GCC countries
A graduate or postgraduate in civil engineering
A master’s degree in business administration/management would be an added advantage
Must have excellent management skills
A highly skilled man-manager, adept in motivating the team
Must be a very good communicator, both verbal and in written communication
Must have good interpersonal and leadership skills
