An assistant general manager/managing director is required at one of the UAE’s most reputable aluminium and glass manufacturers.
The assistant general manager is directly responsible to the general manager for the overall co-ordination, budgetary cost control, satisfactory customer requirement delivery and ongoing growth of the business activities of the aluminium and glass business in the Abu Dhabi area.
The prime responsibility of the role is to control the running of the company within the parameters of the operational budget and to return the budgeted profit to the company by the end of the year.
The successful candidate will develop a set of key accounts/partnerships in the region that, together with the new client, help to develop mechanisms that provide the business with increased visibility on new projects and developments being prepared for tender.
The person will also be expected to establish reporting mechanisms and structures that will generate effective management information that allows the focus to be placed upon enquiry and lead generation, timely and effective estimation production, ongoing technical evaluation and support, accurate project timescale rollout to the customer, customer service support and after-sales/project satisfaction.
All this should be done while establishing ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and overseeing its introduction as a business priority.
The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 15 years’ successful experience in similar roles with medium to large manufacturing companies, ideally involving architectural aluminium and glass projects.
