This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's leading home enhancement and DIY retailer.
Their is currently a need for significant change as this company aims to establish themselves as a world class centre of merchandising expertise. The team is responsible for leading a significant change agenda in how they manage inventory and stock level in the organisation, and for landing world class availability. The area will lead a variety of initiatives, develop new processes and work with the category merchandising teams, coaching and instilling best practice.
Your main accountability will be to lead significant business improvement in terms of sales and margin delivery, through first class management of stock and availability levels and acting as an expert/coach to the category teams.
You will be responsible for step changing current practice to ensure that this business will be at the fore-front of retail best practice• This will require coaching, influencing and guiding the category merchandising teams in the adoption of best practice.
You will have strong commercial acumen and solid market awareness in terms of product, suppliers and competitors. You have proven project management skills; planning and implementing successful projects. Excellent excel and data warehouse experience, you will also have a excellent knowledge of SAP and replenishment system and good working knowledge of space / layout planning You will also have excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills across all levels.
A Highly analytical person, you will be able to prioritise activities and deliver within a highly challenging commercial environment and with great people management skills you will have an ability to ensure the correct focus and direction are in place for the team.
