Aviation General Manager - Afghanistan

Our Client is a multi- national food logistics and facilities provider and using aircraft is a key part of their operations in order to meet customer requirements.
Seeking a General Manager for their Aviation Business Unit to manage the day to day business of their outbound operations. The position is based in Kabul. Afghanistan.
Reporting into the Divisional Operations Controller you will supervise ~50 personnel dispersed over 4 geographical areas and 2 continents.
You will supervise fixed and rotary wing Day/VFR flight operations and you will aggressively manage contracts with the United Nations and various Armed Forces of the World.
Rapidly reacting to shifting priorities while maintaining control over critical requirements you will maintain responsibility and accountability for sourcing fixed & rotary wing aircraft
You will ensure compliance with ICAO, US MIL, NATO, UN, & host nation CAA directives.
You will deal with a host of providers and suppliers, monitor safety, political and economic trends that will aid in contract negations and sourcing.
You will develop based financial factors to safeguard against raising fuel prices, crew availability, and even future ICAO, US MIL, NATO, UN, and host nation CAA directives aircraft modernization costs.
Finally you will manage employee issues and, where necessary, liaise with Human Resources staff.
Knowledge and Skills:
An accomplished aviation professional with experience of invoicing & development of financial controls i.e. cost savings & cost comparisons.
A comprehensive understanding of fuel hedging & how to incorporate this into contracts & have a proven track record of overseeing >5,000, 000 USD contract either as a contracting officer or customer fulfilling the contract.
Able to interface with senior US Military & NATO Officers & provide unique solutions to contractual issues or concerns, have detailed knowledge of cargo aircraft, an ability to recommend &/or source the right aircraft for the right mission based on gross weight, type & density of cargo & fuel burn.
You will have established contacts with actual aircraft providers & proven experience in monitoring separate aviation operations while ensuring safety & financial standards are met.
You should possess excellent communication skills in English & ideally one other language, PC / IT literate & possess a Drivers Licence.
Looking for a minimum of 18 to 24 months commitment.
Basic salary paid in US Dollars & tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. Annual profit share bonus payable. Accommodation, laundry, local transport, health insurance & meals provided free. Employees have the use of a phone to call family/friends & internet for e-mails etc.
Western Ex-Pat will receive 63 days annual leave & working rota is approx 14 weeks on, 3.5 weeks off
Western Ex-Patriate will receive 3 paid return economy flights per year & Mobilization & De-Mobilization flights are paid by our client.
