Business Analyst (Risk)

My client is an international Investment/ Asset management company based in the City, London. We are looking to recruit a Business Analyst to working within a Front Office IT team on a permanent basis.

We require a Business Analyst with experience working within an IT project environment, who is project delivery focused with an Investment / Asset management knowledge.

Salary: £60k - £75k basic


The Role Required skills
• The role will involve performing full business analysis with direct access to business managers initially focusing within a Quants business area and associated processes: risk measurement, exposure models, trade price modelling and analytics covering the spectrum of Equity, Fixed Income, Derivative instruments and structured products.
• You will be as part of a team to initially scope and plan projects; work closely with the business to interpret objectives, in so doing clearly establish the business requirements; undertake the analysis; ascertain the data requirements, functional fit and an operating model; agree the critical success factors of the change through testing phases and implementation. Essentially provide support to business representatives and project team through the different phases of the project life cycle.
• The business Analyst will be responsible for defining and undertaking analysis, producing structured high quality requirements documents, undertake a gap analysis, prepare detailed functional specifications and workflows covering, for example: required process changes, application functionality, usability, controls, and logical data flows i.e. inputs, outputs and interfaces using established BA methodology.

Skills & Knowledge – Essential
• Solid mathematical problem solving skills is a prerequisite and experience with numerical algorithms, data analysis and preferred strong Excel, VBA with a working knowledge SQL
• A good understanding of investment management in terms of packages, products and process specifically Quants
• Extensive investment management Business Analysis experience
• Experience as a BA thoughout the project life cycle: Initiation, Requirements definition, Analysis, Design, Development, Functional testing and implementation
