Job/Role Purpose:
To ensure the business can deliver an appropriate response to business critical events
Key Accountabilities:
• Support the company business continuity process
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and maintain Business Continuity Policy and Operating protocol documentation in line with the Company management system
• Play a key role in project managing the implantation of a system to manage, monitor and report on Directorate level plans
• Review the Business Continuity process to ensure strong linkages with the risk management process and emergency response process
• Provide process measures to ensure the business is adequately identifying and managing Business Continuity issues
• Identify suitable level walkthroughs of existing Business Continuity Plans across the business and progress outstanding actions for the appropriate accountable areas
• Identify the need for further Business Continuity Plans in response to emerging risks
• Work with the accountable areas to ensure the Business Continuity process is understood, is deployed and improvement actions implemented
• Support the deployment of risk management across the company
• Assist in the identification of company wide training requirements
Qualifications:
• Member of BCI at Associate level essential and MBCI preferred
• Relevant degree or diploma an advantage
Knowledge:
• Business continuity principles
• Risk management
• Relevant standards, including BS7799, BS25999
• Issues that might affect a Defence business
• Project management principles
Experience:
• Business continuity management within a complex, high value commercial organisation
• Experience of writing Business Continuity plans desirable and supporting exercises
• Knowledge of implementation of projects specific to Business Continuity would be an advantage
Skills:
• Ability to lead the introduction and management of cross-company processes
• Ability to operate risk management software
Behaviours:

• Ability to interact at all levels
Special Requirements:
• May occasionally be required to travel in the UK
