Business Development Director

Our client is one of the leading building services contactors in the UK with a network of offices throughout the UK. They work across a wide range of sectors both commercial and industrial and have delivered some significant projects over the years.
They are looking to appoint a Business Development Director for their London and South East region managing a team of business developers and estimating teams and taking on responsibility for the work winning and pre construction activities within the region which covers 3 offices. This role is all about ‘pushing tenders over the line’ and winning work from partners and also by competitive tender. It is a dynamic role that requires a short to medium approach to work winning and a long term strategic approach to client development.
Candidates will come from a construction / contractor background and understand the London market place and in particular the contracting arena. They will need a network of established relationships within the London main contractor market place and probably with some developers and consultants. If no previous experience of building services contracting can be demonstrated then candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding, both technical and strategic of this sector and how they have developed work in the past.
An out and out business development background is not essential if candidates can demonstrate a track record of work winning whilst being in more of an operational role and can clearly show where they have contributed to business growth in the past.
