We are currently looking for a talented and ambitious Business Development Director to join our client's German based team, in the beautiful Bavarian city of Munich. This is an exciting challenge for someone to be personally responsible for the generation of business, mainly through new clients, but also through strategic account management alongside the key account, brand and stakeholder management teams.
On a day to day basis you will be required to:
*Take responsibility for the achievement of a pre-defined sales, revenue & GM targets
*Execute the business plan & ensure that the business work to that agreed plan.
*Attracting new clients to the organisation & penetrating into new areas (e.g. therapy franchises) of the more established clients.
*Liaise closely with clients through meetings, account development & new business development activities.
*Secure & attend client presentations to pitch for business
*Where appropriate, ensure that existing clients continue to enjoy a high level of services that they have come to expect in order to ensure that existing business is renewed.
*Promote the unique services of the company internationally, at congresses & directly when interacting with client contacts
*Work closely with the heads of Key Accounts on all new client proposals to ensure that we are not overpromising against our capabilities
*Write proposals & accurate preparation of costing for medium -large scale multi-stakeholder international studies.
*Lead & accompany clients with the Marketing Insights team to present project results.
*Be well versed in the techniques employed by company and to continuously educate yourself and the business in this respect.
The ideal candidate for the BDD role will have the following:
*Proven track record in the successful selling of ad-hoc multi country market research studies to the pharmaceutical industry
*Existing client relationships, with excellent client service skills & relationship building skills.
*Experience working in a pharmaceutical market research agency/company in a highly commercial / client facing position
*Experience of using a range of different methodologies -both quantitative & qualitative ad hoc market research.
*Strong commercial acumen (MBA not necessary).
*Expert client presentation skills
*Ability to write & develop proposals on qualitative & quantitative projects
*Ability to write reports with conclusions & recommendations for action
Fluency in English is a must and whilst German language skills would be highly desirable they aren't essential.
