Business Development Manager – Civil Aviation

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and talented Sales professional to join a market leading aerospace company in the role of Business Development Manager.

THE ROLE

Reporting to the Global Business Development Director, the main duties and responsibilities of this role will be;
• Develop and win new business opportunities from Civil Aviation customers identified in the business sales strategy on a global scale
• Call on existing customers and maintain good relationships with key individuals to protect and develop business opportunities and attain a high reputation for integrity
• Pro-active in developing sales opportunities and creative in your approach, with the ability to influence key decision makers at whatever level they may be, both in a technical or commercial persuasion.
• Ascertain key requirements of particular prospective work packages and determine opportunities for negotiation
• Recommend the structure and content of quotations/proposals and work with the team to prepare appropriate bids and then negotiate the business proposal to sale closure, assuming responsibility for delivery
• Assimilate market intelligence and information concerning prospective customers and competitors for use in managing the business sales and commercial strategies
• Participate and contribute to the development of the business sales strategy
• Attend weekly sales meetings
• Close liaison with the Global Business Development Director and regular contact with team members in the UK and abroad
• Provide regular reports in respect of business development activities together with action plans to secure sales targets within the business plan
• Promote the interests and image of the Company at all times.

KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The successful candidate will possess the following experience and attributes,
• You will be able to demonstrate an outstanding record of success in personally winning significant new business within the aerospace sector, specifically within the civil’s market
• Experienced in successful Key Account Management
• Ideally be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
• Previous operations / commercial / contractual experience would be highly advantageous
• A proactive and dynamic approach to work with high levels of self-motivation
• The willingness to travel globally with a flexible approach
• A team player who can quickly establish and maintain good working relationships with other team members.

This position will be largely field based, but the jobholder will be based in the West Midlands region, in commuting distance to our client’s premises. Relocation assistance will be available where appropriate.
