This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and talented Sales professional to join a leading aerospace company in the role of Business Development Manager.
JOB TITLE: Business Development Manager
LOCATION: Midlands / East Midlands / South Yorkshire based – UK Coverage
THE ROLE
The Business Development Sales Manager is required to:
(i) develop and win business opportunities from customers identified in the business sales and marketing plan;
(ii) assimilate market intelligence and information concerning prospective customers and competitors for use in managing the business sales and commercial strategies; and
(iii) participate and contribute to the development and ongoing management of the business sales and marketing plan.
The main duties and responsibilities of this role are,
• Call on existing and prospective customers and maintain good relationships with key individuals to develop new business opportunities and attain a high reputation for integrity.
• Ascertain key requirements of particular prospective work packages and determine opportunities for negotiation. Recommend the structure and content of quotations/proposals and work with the Internal Sales team to prepare appropriate bids and then negotiate the business proposal to sale closure.
• Introduce nominated business/project managers to customers and new contracts and support the production team with customer liaison through the launch of new projects.
• In conjunction with the Internal Sales team, manage and control the process of sales enquiry conversion to contract award. This will involve a) ensuring the scope of work is clearly defined through regular and effective communication with the customer, and b) managing enquiry briefs and action plans.
• Complete sales visit reports for all sales activity and submit these regularly to the Sales Administrator.
• Ensure that the Head of Sales is kept fully appraised of prospective work packages sufficient to enable the Company to undertake proper capacity planning.
• Promote the interests and image of the Company at all times.
KEY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
The successful candidate will possess the following experience and attributes,
• You will be able to demonstrate an outstanding record of success in personally winning significant new business within the aerospace sector
• Possess a knowledge of engineering processes, either machining or fabrication of aerospace products
• Experienced in successful Key Account Management
• Ideally hold a formal qualification in an Engineering or Technical discipline
• A proactive and dynamic approach to work with high levels of self-motivation
• The willingness to travel throughout the UK, and overseas when required.
This position will be largely field based, but the jobholder will be required to attend the company premises as required, based in the East Midlands region.
