BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – Kitchen Appliances

We seek a dynamic new business specialist who can secure distribution for a brand new product range within the Electrical, DIY and Merchant multiples. You must be experienced within brand/PL Sales and Account Management at national level and have a genuine and demonstrable track record of new business development or sales growth with existing customers or new products. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to create an impact within an established SME who supply premium Appliances to the UK and Ireland.

The Role
The company is launching a new product range that will target the current market leader. The range will comprise both branded and retailer brand products. The main focus of the new role will be to target the retailer brand market, but the Business Development Manager will be expected to take on the responsibility for the company’s full range of products with selected national accounts. Your main objective will be to ensure profit and turnover growth through selected national accounts for both brand and retailer brand
business across all product ranges.

Main duties
 Develop a business plan for Retailer Brand business;
 Establish and maintain close links with new customers for Retailer Brand business and for branded business where appropriate;
 Work closely with the National Sales Manager to ensure our Sales Executives actively support and implement our sales strategy with branches of national accounts;
 Work closely with the marketing, internal sales and operations teams to implement the business plan and to service new customers;
 Provide input to the company’s sales strategy, channel management, budgeting and forecasting.

Experience/Skills required
 Excellent track record in winning new business and building customer relationships with national accounts;
 Experience in dealing with large electrical multiples, builders merchants and DIY chains; ideally within the kitchen appliances or similar sector.
 Pro-active approach, self starter;
 Ability to communicate at all levels, both written and verbal;
 Good negotiation and influencing skills;
 Basic financial understanding;
 Good IT skills, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
 Clean driving license, willingness to travel within the UK.
