Business Unit Manager
Shropshire - Midlands (West)
Business Unit Manager required to run the Process Department for a successful chilled food manufacturer as they enter a period of significant investment with impressive growth plans. Reporting into the Head of Manufacturing and responsible for a team of c70 the successful applicant will be expected to optimise all aspects of factory production including management of materials, labour capital allocation, engineering revenue spend and factory overheads with particular emphasis on the medium- to long-term strategy enabling the factory to respond to the growth plans.
Preference will be given to applicants with chilled food manufacturing experience in a similar position.
Applicants should be able to demonstrate:
• Strong relationship building skills in order to promote effective cross-functional team working between manufacturing, commercial and support functions.
• The drive and initiative to proactively shape and manage the structure, culture and behavioural values to ensure operational flexibility is maintained and that the factory is well placed to respond to current, and future, market demands and technical opportunities.
• A keen understanding of CI techniques is essential in order to understand, challenge and improve on industry ‘best practice’ driving a continuous improvement philosophy within the factory.
• Capability to define and promote expected behavioural standards within their team of direct and indirect reports supporting a culture that enhances behavioral awareness.
• The ability to build a team that operates self sufficiently to consistently high standards by means of structured recruitment, training and development of staff promoting a high-achiever philosophy through tailored PRPs to meet the future needs of the factory and individuals.
