The Role:
The successful Capability Lead : Electronics will be reporting to the Head of Engineering, you will take a senior role in the engineering department leading a team of Electronics and Electrical Engineers.
The successful candidate taking this position will play a key role in developing the business and its approach to delivery. You will need to pull a diverse team of engineers together and provide vision and direction for their activity, while streamlining their approach to delivery of product.
You will be directly involved with project and product delivery while undertaking the capability lead role.
This role provides the ideal opportunity for an engineer looking for additional responsibility leading and managing a team while retaining an input to the delivery of projects and products.
You will determine and streamline the departments tool set and develo core technologies for use in products and driving reuse across the product range

You will be developing the required processes to enable the electronics products to be developed and taking responsibility for recruitment, retention and training within the capability in to develop the skills and competencies necessary for the development of current and future products

The successful Electronics : Capability Lead will have a Bachelor Degree in relevant subject or commensurate experience in relevant discipline, you will have a passion for engineering and electronics engineering in particular, and are likely to have knowledge of:
Digital and Analogue Electronics
PCB Design and development
Coding and software development
Engineering design and development processes
Configuration Control through the development process
Tools appropriate to the development process
More generally you will have a good understanding of general engineering principals allied with in-depth knowledge of engineering lifecycle and process. You should be willing to take on responsibility for a department and have a vision for the technology and systems required to deliver its products.
You will also have experience of leadership of technical teams.
