Category Manager - Indirects
Berkshire - South East
Our client a leading Procurement Consultancy working closely with global organisations to drive added value, increase flexibility and reduce costs is looking to recruit a Category Manager within indirect/professional services to play a central role in the team, delivering key procurement projects.
The job may require travel. Areas of responsibility will include taking on both project and non-project related tasks such as:
Managing/coordinating delivery of multiple small or medium project teams to deliver sourcing projects within a client/category areaStructuring and presenting strategy workshops, client reports and relevant project documentation
Responsible for delivering savings targets and other project/category targets (depending on engagement), in some cases including developing or improving processes
Meeting with clients and stakeholders to build project requirements, in some cases leading to identifying and developing new business opportunities within existing clients
Interpreting results and formulating strategies based on modelling and analysis
Managing key supplier relationships to ensure optimum performance, including leading negotiations
Sharing best practise and technical / market know-how.
The successful candidate will be graduate calibre and have strong strategic sourcing experience from a leading consultancy or blue chip organisation with experience of managing and delivering significant portion of procurement projects. You will have demonstrated excellence in their careers and education to date, and be a passionate, personable, energetic go getter. You will require outstanding team-working abilities and lead by example and take ownership for projects. Excellent analytical skills is essential (ie. spend, benchmarking, analytical delivery) as well as the ability to understand and implement client sourcing/procurement policies and procedures and understand level responsibilities and implications of decisions. You will have an excellent understanding and be able to apply Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) concept in constructing simple tenders and evaluation criteria. Candidates will hold a CIPS qualification
