Category Manager - Mobile

This pan-European business, with a significant presence in the UK, has undergone a period of significant structural change and they are now looking at launching into specific new product areas. They have highlighted mobile technology as a key growth area, and this role is a pivotal position within this brand new team.

Within the mobile category, you will focus specifically on handsets, both contract and pre-pay. The role will be genuine category management, sourcing from predominantly UK based suppliers through networks, handset manufacturers and wholesalers, you will write your own brief in terms of growth targets and strategy and, alongside the category director, plan and implement the entire range of handset product. You will develop relationships with the key internal stake holders in areas such as video, audio and camera to ensure the ranges are complementary.

This is a key role, where you will need to hit the ground running to really drive the growth in this currently dormant category, you will therefore need to be established in a handsets buying, category or marketing role for either a network or a mainstream retailer.
