Working as the head of a substantial membership services association demands many qualities – not least the ability to articulate and deliver the vision for growth and diversification, in challenging times. Such is the remit for our Client, whose enviable reputation at both trade and governmental levels is second to none. With a substantial fiscal turnover and a strong surplus, the Client wishes to appoint an energetic and inspirational leader to meet these challenges.
Working closely with the operating Board and with members across retail, manufacturing and healthcare, the incumbent will deliver an operating strategy which takes account of all the managerial disciplines of legal, financial, environmental consultancy, HR, IT and sales growth. He/she will represent the association at local, national and governmental levels, lobbying for influence and representation at the ‘top table’. As a natural leader and team-builder, the job holder will possess both the style and gravitas to make an early and sustained impact at Board level with Blue Chip customers.
Of graduate calibre and ideally with an industry relevant post graduate qualification, the job holder will be able to demonstrate a previous successful track record of achievement within temperature controlled logistics, ideally from within a 3PL and/or a retailer. He/she will have gained formal management training in either industry or the armed forces and be well networked within the supply chain profession. A possible period in consulting will be highly regarded, as will the persons knowledge of PR, lobbying and trade representation. This is a role which demands the highest levels of integrity, gravitas, objectivity and nous and one which will prove to be a rewarding career position.
