The Business Improvement District (BID), trading as Nottingham Leisure Partnership, is a public/commercial organisation charged with improving business conditions for Nottingham City Centres evening economy by working on projects that ensure visitors who come to Nottingham have a safe, positive and exciting experience. The BID is directly funded by a financial levy paid by licensees and manages funds that come from other sources including local and national government.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, you will work with leisure business owners and managers to understand their requirements in promoting their business and the city centre as a whole. You will appreciate the individual concerns of the business owners and managers and work to devise promotions, events and infrastructure that best serves their needs.

You will also be heavily involved with other public bodies that manage issues raised by the evening economy including the police, Nottingham City Council and the Crime and Disorder Partnership. Working alongside the Finance and Business
Director, you will organise projects that alleviate some of the negative side effects of a thriving city centre such as Street Angels or taxi marshals. Charged with ensuring communication with the licensed economy is strong, you will be fully capable of representing their issues. You will be responsible for launching or managing beneficial projects that cannot be directly organised by other public bodies.

You must be self-motivated, dynamic, hands on, a challenging leader and able to carry ideas through to project implementation. A strong communicator (both internal and external) you must have experience in marketing so be capable of producing a comprehensive marketing plan for the BID and for specific projects. It would be advantageous if you had some knowledge of PR, event management and experience in the hospitality sector. An understanding of the issues facing the licensed economy is essential.
