Chief Technical Officer (CTO)


Main responsibilities

-Develop and implement an organisation-wide IT that is aligned with the organisation's vision and long-term business objectives.

-Responsible for managing the development and support delivery of information systems solutions to business problems.

-Manage internal teams of application development, systems infrastructure and help desk and external suppliers.



The Chief Technical Officer Position


-Participate in business planning and make sure that the IT strategy is aligned with business objectives. Coordinate with top management as well as with department heads to take into account business needs in IT application selection and enhancement.

-Assess feasibility of technical solutions and provide technical consulting across the organisation related to applications and project management.

-Coordinate activities of project management and IT development. Appoint project teams and regularly review progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and adhere to norms and standards.

-Recommend standards policies and procedures for project management and development, and develop training plans to ensure that all staff is up-to-date in their areas of competence.

-Perform evaluation performance and development plans of all staff under supervision.

-Supervise (infrastructure manager and help desk manager) to make sure that IT solutions fit within our portfolio of skills and infrastructure technologies.

-Prepare budgets – operational and investment.

-Keep in touch with technological trends affecting the IT portfolio.



Ideal profile


-At least Bachelor's degree in computer science.

-Business degree (i.e. MBA) is a plus.

-At least 10 years' experience in managing international, multi-cultural teams.

-Experience in dealing with business units and understanding business issues.

-Project management experience in business applications (CRM, Finance, SCM, and Reporting).

-Strong technical knowledge of .NET web environment and CRM is a plus.

-People management.

-Business focused – good strategic vision of IT and business trends.

-Negotiation skills with diverse partners (users, technical – internal, external).

-Very good understanding of infrastructure and user support technologies and issues.

-Knowledge of core technologies used (.NET, Siebel, Cognos, Legacy, Coldfusion and Java).
