My client a market leading company now have the need for a Cognos Business Intelligence Manager. Your previous experience should include a solid Cognos background and you will have held a similar position within another organisation. Your responsibilities will include the support for business initiatives by matching user reporting requirements to the relevant reporting tools and producing the required reports. You will enable the provision of business intelligence information to help monitor performance to planned business goals and initiatives and work on business and IT projects as required. You will help with the continuous upgrade of the business intelligence/reporting infrastructure in line with business need and help manage, in association with the DBA, the Data Warehouse and ancillary reporting databases within the company. You will administer and be primarily responsible for the Cognos business intelligence systems throughout the company. The following skills are required: Good working knowledge of the Cognos 8 architecture. Cognos Business Intelligence 8.x. (Framework Manager, Report Studio, Event Studio, Metric Studio, Analysis Studio) and experience of working with Framework Manager with the ability to tune the performance of reports and to interact directly with end users and to build static and interactive reports using the Cognos 8 studios. You will have Knowledge of Impromptu Web Reports & PowerPlay Enterprise Server and knowledge of PowerPlay/PowerPlay Transformer. It is preferred, although not essential that you have knowledge of Cognos Planning, Cognos 8 SDK and MS SQL Server.
