Commercial Director

Leading retailer currently looking to bring on board a commercial director to head up their buying and merchandising team across all categories.

- Create and develop short and long term strategic business plans
- Own the cross functional business process, RACI and policies to deliver an efficient and cost effective commercial operation
- Manage the resources of the team in an integrated way and constantly review resource requirements for the commercial team
- Engage key stakeholders and agree efficient ways of cross functional working
- Champion space range and merchandising accuracy across the business ensuring the relevant teams have access to all relevant information required to ensure compliance.
- Sign off a space range and display schedule which balances customer needs, strategic business requirements and capacity of the operation
- Champion and refine the commercial strategy to reflect my long term business plan and enable effective implementation across all countries.
- Lead an annual process to review and update the commercial strategy which takes into account customer, finance and operations
- Understand and communicate the company’s market position, consumer trends, and competitors’ positioning providing viable solutions which for part of the ongoing development of the commercial strategy.
- Forecast and manage cost centre expenditure within budget ensuring effective use and control
- Manage our investment
- Manage and maintain financial KPIs relating to all aspects of the commercial team including sales, productivity and service
