Our client is one of the UK’s leading building services contractors with a strong regional network and the ability to deliver the most complex of projects. They offer the best and most comprehensive set of mechanical and electrical services, delivered by a highly skilled workforce with unrivalled experience, expertise and specialist technical competencies across the broadest range of market sectors.

They are now looking to recruit a Commercial Director to provide overarching leadership, co-ordination and management of all cost management services within their Health sector.

The candidate will be expected to agree and manage budgets, set up commercial procedures and pro-forma to assist the Project Managers and Directors, identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive a ‘Value for Money’ ethos throughout the business.

For this role we are looking for:

• A commercial management background gained within a contracting environment
• A Building Services background is desirable
• Experience of managing a commercial function in excess of £70m
• Commitment and enthusiasm to achieving better ways of working
• Track record of successfully managing a commercial team delivering a range of public and private sector projects
• Significant procurement expertise (Materials and subcontractors)
• An expertise in process and contract procedures
• Well developed management skills, including communications and negotiation
• Ability to lead from the front and motivate / influence others to exceptional performance
• Commercial management skills: including resolution of conflicting priorities, budget monitoring, reporting, and control procedures
• Experience in dealing with conflicting service and management priorities and making sound strategic recommendations
• Excellent analysis and reporting skills to inform decision makers

Based from the West Midlands with a national remit, this is a senior role reporting in to the MD for Health.
