Commercial Manager - Facilities Management

Our Client is a leading global engineering, construction & facilities management services company supporting the energy, petrochemicals, government services & civil infrastructure sectors.

Its UK Division is now planning to expand its facilities management operations into the United Arab Emirates where it intends to supply a full range of facilities management services – catering, security, janitorial & cleaning, maintenance etc to the growing business community commencing operations in Dubai & Abu Dhabi, eventually the rest of the UAE.

Reporting into the Project Director & responsible for the financial success of the FM service contracts won & executed, the quality & accuracy of the commercial aspects of bid documentation and the effectiveness of the supply chain in supporting service delivery to the clients.

Key Responsibilities will be:

§ Under broad direction, responsible for evaluating & managing commercial risks as part of our client’s commercial offer.
§ Plans, organizes, & manages supply chain relationships & contract documents to improve the commercial/contract management process for pursuits
§ Provides direction to the Facilities Management Team working in the UAE on contract & commercial issues.
§ Major areas of emphasis will include:
o coordination & structuring the commercial offer to reflect the commercial solution for pursuits within the region
o pricing service offerings developed by the Facilities Management Team during bid acquisitions & pursuit
o ensuring that project execution aligns with the commercial strategy
o selection, monitoring & evaluation of sub contractors
o development of service level agreements with sub contractors

The job role directly impacts on our client’s region’s financial viability.

The success of the role will be measured by the:

o Financial success of the FM Service Contracts won & executed
o The quality & accuracy of the commercial input to bid documents
o The effectiveness of the supply chain in supporting service delivery to the clients

Ideally currently employed at a middle or senior management level of responsibility within an established facilities management group.
A thorough understanding of the resources, methods & processes required to deliver a wide range of Facilities Management Services & have the ability to assess & select suppliers & subcontractors in the UAE; develop Service Level Agreements & Performance Criteria.

Your commercial experience should be supported by some professional qualification ideally a Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or in Building Services. Experience of quantity surveying would be useful. Ideally experience of working in the Gulf States – preferably UAE.

Need a Drivers Licence & be IT / PC literate in MS Office.

Salary not a limiting factor for the right candidate supported where necessary by a Full Ex Pats package of a number of additional allowances e.g. housing, travel etc.
