Commercial Manager

This is a front line key commercial management role for a successful and experienced food industry commercial and NPD professional to lead the commercial team with additional responsibility for new product development in line with the business strategy to produce volume sales and profit growth.

You will be highly commercial adept with a strong track record in establishing strong customer relationships at corporate level. You will be responsible for the production and control of a comprehensive commercial strategy in line with the overall business strategy. You will be highly capable in team building to deliver innovative results that are perceived as standard setting. You will be able to identify and deliver new business development and acquisition opportunities to deliver growth ahead of market and group expectations. Strong market knowledge with the confidence to present on market activity and dynamics without notice.

Strong leadership skills are crucial to set a clear commercial vision and engage colleagues and team to pursue this vision. The successful candidate will have proven that they are able to engage and excite the customer and to drive a team to deliver sustained and improved performance above the norm.

Our client are looking for someone to achieve the above and feel that the right person will have food industry knowledge servicing any combination of the big 5 food supermarkets, ideally in bakery and also a background in marketing. You will have own label experience gained within the food industry and experience in a similar senior commercial management role. The most important thing about the right person is that you have exceptional commercial management in the food industry, can demonstrate excellent progression and achievement in a role and are strong on new product development.

You will be accustomed to presentations at senior level, confident at negotiating and strong account management skills. This is a national role so the right candidate will be willing to travel across the UK including client visits in the London area.

The role attracts an excellent market rate package including a high basic salary, 20% bonus, £5700 car allowance, family health cover and a joint contributory pension.
