This is a fantastic opportunity within this well known, market leader for a Commercial Planning Manager. You will be responsible for driving trading activity across their range, ensuring that they create and exploit commercial opportunities to deliver increased market share, sales and margin. Working effectively across buying, supply chain, marketing and operations, you'll plan and coordinate commercial activity within a 12+ month timeframe, including promotions, strategy and market positioning.

Key responsibilities:
- Own the commercial promotional plan and process, working closely with buyers in selecting products that meet the needs of the business and customers.
- Continuously review process and implement improvements where appropriate.
- Own the creative briefing process to ensure successful execution of promotional activity.
- Work with operations to ensure successful execution of promotional activity.
- Work across buying, supply chain and marketing to drive cross-functional engagement and agreement amongst key stakeholders.
- Chair bi-weekly planning sessions, establish planning processes to ensure clarity and consistency.
- Proactively seek out new commercial opportunities.
- Manage a small team of direct reports.
- Work closely with senior management to develop commercial strategy including range, product development and proposition development.

Applicants will need significant prior experience within a commercial role, ideally within buying, marketing or supply chain. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate a successful track-record in delivering change, improvement and development. You will be expected to demonstrate capability in managing and influencing effective working relationships, in resolving conflict and in engaging all stakeholders to a single agenda. Prior experience in proposing and implementing step-change activity to deliver improved commercial results is essential. Planning and project management skills are essential. Essentially you will have strong verbal and written communication skills to manage your team, work cross-functionally with others and influence key people within the company and externally.
