Consulting Director – Gas Strategy
London - London
Excellent opportunity to join a big 4 energy and utilities team in growth phase. They seek to strengthen their London-based team with the appointment of either an Assistant Director or Director. If the hire is at Assistant Director level, that person should be capable to progress rapidly to Director level.
The role involves dealing with complex issues in high-profile projects such as valuation, restructuring, regulation and M&A, and will involve working with a client base that includes board members of some of the world’s leading energy companies.
The work is primarily located in the UK and continental Europe, although there are often jobs further afield. Team sizes on assignment vary from 1 or 2 to 10 and more.
• At the Associate Director level, responsibility will be for supporting senior staff in the development of new business in the sector, including preparation of proposals and pitches, attendance at presentations and identifying opportunities for sell-on of existing work.
• At the Director level, a key focus will be business development.
Please check you meet the following mandatory requirements before applying:
• A combination of technical/operational and commercial experience and will have significant experience within the gas sector across a number of geographies
• A deep understanding of the gas value chain from upstream through midstream to downstream monetisation (power, space heating, transport, petchem etc.) is required.
• An understanding of gas trading, storage and regulation would be advantageous
• A commercial background gained through economic or investment analysis, planning, M& A, strategy or business development roles in a corporate setting or at a specialist consultancy is a pre-requisite as is experience of UK and international energy issues
• Willingness to travel around 15-25% of time (varies with project), team members do not tend to spend more than 1 week out of the office at any one time, typical trip duration is 3-5 days).
