Solicitor (Corporate/Commercial) 2-5 years PQE, Ipswich
The department contains 15 partners and encompasses corporate, commercial litigation, employment and shipping litigation teams, providing services to listed and unlisted plcs, entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, family companies, banks, venture capital funds and business angels. In addition to the constant stream of transactional work, the team provides legal advice to clients on a broad range of contractual and commercial activities. Significant clients include Bank of Scotland, BOCM Pauls, Acteon Group, Bernard Matthews Ltd, East of England Co-operative Society and Muntons plc.
The corporate finance team advises on acquisitions and disposals, mergers and takeovers, MBOs, MBIs, BIMBOs, equity financing and restructuring, joint ventures and strategic alliances, start-ups and spin-outs. Recent work of the team has included a number of high value transactions, including acting for the shareholders and option holders of Acteon Group Ltd on the sale of a controlling interest to a US private equity fund for £76m; acting for the shareholders of Lind Automotive Group on the sale of the group to Inchcape plc for a sum in excess of £100m, acting for the shareholders of Ridleys in its sale to Greene King plc for £45.4m and acting for the Bernard Matthews Group on the refinancing of its debt.
The Corporate/Commercial team are looking for a Solicitor with 2 - 5 years PQE (salary dependant upon experience) who has experience in a corporate or commercial environment. The ideal candidate would come from a London Corporate firm, or a large regional firm.
