DBA - Oracle 9i, 10g, RMAN Banking sector

A City based private bank is looking for a Database Administrator to join it's growing IT department. You must have worked in the banking sector and have experience of Oracle 9i, 10g RDBMS, Streams, RMAN, Data Guard and Grid Control. Exposure to Advanced Queuing, Message Gateway, Informix and SQL server are advantageous. Oracle Certified Professional certification is highly desirable.

As the Database Administrator your responsibilities will include:-
Technical
1.Install and maintain databases and associated software.
2.Evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems.
3.Formulate, design and implement appropriate backup and disaster recovery solutions for the bank's databases and related systems.
4.To recommend and carry out actions that ensure the integrity of the data held in databases
5.Establish and control database access and security
6.Resolve database performance issues and database capacity issues
7.To report on inadequate service from external suppliers, vendors and service providers
8.Respond to project requirements with analysis of database specifications and costs

Operation
1.To ensure database systems and associated applications are available during normal core working hours
2.Provide technical support to technical team members when they are unable to resolve problems in a timely manner
3.To provide appropriate responses to users requests for assistance
4.Ensure that the bank's essential services can be recovered in the event of a disaster, through proper documentation and compliance with the Bank's Business Continuity strategy
5.To recommend and carry out actions that ensure systems are supported adequately
6.Skills transfer, training and provide tutoring for technical staff

Development
1.Provide technical resource for the design development and implementation of any database technologies
2.To ensure that the database designs matches the needs of the company
3.To provide for growth
4.Provide evaluation and recommendations on products accordingly
5.Produce documentation for all relevant infrastructure systems
6.To adhere to the documented delegated signing authority as set out in the Information Technology Procedures.
