My client, a market leader is recruiting for a Desktop Support Administrator to maintain all PC workstations, laptops and mobile communication devices and act as the primary point of contact for IT issues. The successful candidate will plan, design and implement desktop systems, including configurations and will support/troubleshoot network problems. You will troubleshoot hardware and software problems and work with vendors on problem resolution as needed. You will also create standards and templates for Desktop related methodologies and you will have in-depth knowledge and understanding of Desktop Operating system inner workings (File System, Registry, Services, Drivers, etc). The successful candidate will develop and evaluate mobile communication strategy and will have strong organizational, communication and documentation skills. Responsibilities will also include creation of automated tools for use in application packages and repetitive tasks and you will execute new initiatives and infrastructure as required. You will build and maintain a team relationship within IT, have collaboration with related internal departments and build and enhance relationships with all territories and suppliers. Key skills will include: A strong understanding of data centre infrastructure and key concepts; experience with Windows XP and Microsoft Office; previous experience with workstation imaging using Ghost or similar technology; various printer hardware knowledge; detail oriented; strong analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks; excellent organization and time- management skills and excellent customer service skills.
