This economic and international development consultancy has been advising governments, NGOs and international companies for over 50 years. Working with the biggest names in the international development field – The World Bank, IMF, the European Union, the Department for International Development, it employs more than 800 staff in locations ranging from The Balkans to Bangladesh. Privately owned, it is committed to helping the disadvantaged of the world through programmes of change delivered at Government level.
Recent projects have seen its Public Finance Reform team working on:
• Improving medium term expenditure and budgeting to assist with strategic sector planning.
• Implementing financial information systems to help with public sector expenditure management.
• Introducing performance budgeting systems to better allocate resources for spending Ministries.
• Advising on tax policy development and implementation to strengthen fiscal frameworks
• Enhancing growth and reducing poverty through long-term public sector reform programmes.
Its London Head Office is expanding and it wishes to appoint a section leader for the Public Finance team. You’ll join a group of distinguished professionals in this field and you should have a profile to match:
• Masters degree in Economics or a tier one accountancy qualification
• Experience of working for central government in a country noted for its public finance excellence
• Currently or recently employed as a full-time consultant with an internationally-focused economics or development consultancy
To be a credible candidate you must have not only delivered consultancy, but have won consultancy work in the international development space, resource-managed a team of consultants and provided thought leadership in public finance.
