Director of Finance

The role will be actively involved in, and able to bring influence to bear on, all significant business decisions to ensure that implications, opportunities and risks are fully considered.

The Director of Finance will promote excellent financial management and internal control so that all money is safeguarded and used appropriately, economically, efficiently and effectively at all times.

Other duties and responsibilities will include:
Preparing annual financial statements and other finance records to meet the requirements of the relevant regulator

Liaising with external audit

Developing and maintaining an accounting system

Maintaining appropriate fixed asset records


Managing the budget-setting process, drafting the annual budget and overseeing its implementation

Leading on the Finance Division self-assessment report and assist in the implementation and monitoring of appropriate benchmarks

Overseeing the production of cash flow forecasts and reports

Producing monthly financial reports to agreed formats and timescales. These will include commentary explaining developments, variances and risks

Managing and implementing appropriate control and reconciliation systems within the finance function to ensure that information produced is easy to produce, accurate, timely, free from bias and relevant to the users' needs

You will be a Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA or CCAB qualification e.g. ICAEW, CIPFA, ACCA) and will have held a senior position within a similar and complex environment

You will also have experience of:
Demonstrable track record of successfully managing a finance team
Producing financial or management accounts to timetable
VAT requirements, particularly Partial Exemption
Management of Financial Information Systems
