Director Product Management

The Director Product Management will be responsible initially for our clients flagship products, Anti-virus and Security Suite.

Position Summary:
•Own the product strategy for one key market (Consumer or business)
•Maintain a 3 year business plan for products
•Achieve P&L targets for product line
•Work with “New Product” PMs to ensure success of additional new products
•Manage a small team of Product Managers
•Foster strong working relationships with peers in Engineering, Sale and Marketing

This role will be primarily measured by revenue and customer acquisition metrics, third party product review results, customer feedback on perceived product quality and achievement of project milestones throughout the product life cycle

Specific Responsibilities
•Be the advocate for our customers ensuring that their product needs are met.
•Identify the “needle mover” priority requirements and correct product investment blend that will enable company objectives to be met.
•Have a clear hands-on experience driven understanding of customers, partners, and employees to completely understand customer needs
•Clearly understand customer segmentation and personas and continuously review to ensure they remain accurate and appropriate
•Continuously monitor competitor products, positioning, pricing, messaging, routes to market and key features
•Continuously monitor product performance and feedback from customers and channels. Communicate effectively with all Sales team internally and vendors externally.
•Work with Product Marketing, Engineering, Operations, Sales and Technology to identify the right new propositions to take to market and ensure successful transition of these into your target segment.

The Person
Qualifications & Experience
•Graduate with a good first degree in engineering or technology
•Demonstrable success in a hands-on product management role (ideally 8+ years), in one or more businesses that are geographically dispersed and strongly technology-based.
•3+ years experience of managing teams of product managers to ensure build and maintenance of successful product portfolios.
•Strong background and experience in the anti virus security market essential.
•Experience of ownership for new product justification and delivery
•A track record of product success
•Evidence of strong conceptual thinking and innovation – a track record of generating new ideas and concepts that challenge traditional frontiers of thought.
•Must have experience of working in a multi-language business.
Effective second or third language ideal.

Ideal profile
Has had experience with a product line that really stands out for the quality of its customer insight, development of long term delivery on product roadmap. This person can show wins led by them personally in areas such as technical innovation, P & L performance improvement, major product launches, successful market entry, new business opportunity creation etc
