Editor - Print and Online

We are looking for an experienced editor to lead our client's flagship maritime and shipping publication into the next stage of development in its unrivalled history. The challenge is to extend its reputation as an unrivalled source of news and comment for its sector by harnessing the potential of online.

As the editor, you will be responsible for motivating and driving a dedicated newsroom and staff in London which is mirrored by a network of correspondents sited strategically in the crucial global shipping centres, ensuring that our client's coverage is up-to-the-minute as well as global.

In addition to producing five daily print editions a week you will be responsible for developing and implementing the online strategy. The current website is already the most popular website for the maritime sector with an ABCe audit of over 60,500 unique users.

You will have previous editorial management experience on a well-respected publication. This will preferably be on a daily; newspaper experience will be a real advantage. You will have a proven track record of building effective networks/contact bases within target industries and identifying new opportunities. You will also need to have good commercial nous and work well with advertising and marketing teams to develop strong brand extensions.
