The Company
Our client is a UK high-technology business with manufacturing sites in Europe and the Far East and a fifty year pedigree of developing innovative products for the global communications industry. With over 300 staff employed in the UK and R&D investment outstripping any of their rivals, the company is committed to maintaining its pre-eminent position in their market sector.
The Role
Following a significant restructure, implemented to strengthen the corporate framework in readiness for further growth, our client now wishes to hire an Engineering Director who will oversee the engineering and programmes activities of the company. Taking responsibility for over two hundred technical staff, you will drive forward development programmes that will ensure the ongoing success of the company and continually improve engineering and project management practices to contribute to bottom line profitability. You will be responsible for creating a truly world class centre of engineering excellence.
The Requirement
With a background in electronic engineering you will be a proven leader of large teams of engineers, both hardware and software, ideally developing products for high volume manufacture. You will have the vision to set strategic objectives for your team and the tenacity to ensure that those objectives are achieved. You will understand the challenges facing international engineering companies and know how to work with partners and suppliers to drive cost out of the business but still maintain exacting standards of design and manufacturing quality.
In return for your leadership skills and industry experience, you can expect a six figure base salary with substantial bonus and stock options as well as the chance to join the top table of an ambitious, fast-growing UK business within a short period of time.
