Rail Engineering and Infrastructure Manager – to £70,000 + with excellent benefits

Based: London

The Rail Engineering and Infrastructure Manager is responsible for the company meeting its obligations under ROGS and for the compliance of its partners and concessionaires with all activity on the railway undertaken on behalf of the company (main contractor). The Rail Engineering and Infrastructure Manager will lead discussions with engineering and railway infrastructure contractors and ensure the company’s standards, procedures and guidelines are implemented efficiently through all areas of operation.

Our client is responsible for an award winning element of London’s Mass Transit system, the London Underground and Overground railway, highly reputed for exceptional levels of operating reliability and passenger satisfaction.

The Rail Engineering and Infrastructure Manager will have previous experience within the rail, construction or related sector and a broad knowledge of the management and development of railway infrastructure and systems. The successful candidate will hold an appropriate Engineering qualification (e,g. Chartered Engineer) and a good understanding of industry requirements including Health and Safety, Quality Management systems etc.

The Role ideally requires good negotiation skills, previous commercial experience in dealing with contracts with subcontractors (e.g. track renewal, track maintenance) to the industry and preferably knowledge of PFI / PPP or private and public sector contracts.

The Rail Engineering and Infrastructure Manager will have excellent Project Management skills together with the ability to administer, control and manage a budget.
