ENGINEERING MANAGER

Engineering Manager, Food / FMCG
As engineering manager you will manage the Engineering Department, to ensure that all engineering and legislative functions are delivered to the business within time and financial deadlines by providing direction and support to a team of multi skilled Engineers Including training, reviews and recruitment. You will set budgets and ensure your department operates within them via KPI’s and cost centres.
You will be responsible for developing positive working relationships with all departments, and ensure that the business complies with current legislation. You will be responsible for ensuring that equipment is regularly maintained and all critical process equipment records are logged separately for due diligence purposes. You will actively promote a safety culture and ensure that all health and Safety requirements within the Engineering department are met, and liaise with local authorities to ensure compliance with environmental requirements.
Experience of managing and facilitating all capital investment projects is a must as is delivering best practice through continuous improvements culture.
The essential characteristics required for the role are an energetic and visionary style of leadership, project and man-management skills, a strong customer / supplier focus and sound commercial judgement. In addition, the successful candidate will have a demonstrable ability to facilitate new product development from an engineering perspective
A broad experience in the areas of LOLER, COSHH and CDM regulations and testing and a background in the Food industry is desirable.
You will have proven electrical and mechanical engineering experience ideally to a degree level although applicants who are qualified through experience will also be considered.
In addition to proven management and commercial skills this role requires broad experience in a similar role and would suit someone with a confident hands-on approach to getting the job done.
