Based in Bury St Edmunds, this global company specialises in the design and development of high quality equipment principally for professionals in the broadcast, film, live events and education sectors

The Role

This is an outstanding opportunity for an Engineering Manager to manage New Product Development teams for the company’s robotic and screen prompt products.
The overall purpose of the role is to inform, agree and execute the new product development strategy for these products ensuring that it meets with organisation and customer requirements. The successful applicant will work closely with the Global Brands Director to ensure that the technology strategy deployed is complementary and consistent with the objectives of the company.
Reporting directly to the Divisional General Manager, the role holder has global responsibility for tactical management of critical aspects of the company’s agenda to keep the product range ahead of the competition.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities:

• To formulate, agree and execute the New Product Development strategy such that it meets with organisation and customer requirements

• Management and leadership of the Engineering and Software teams including performance management, career development, intellectual capital, and budget planning/implementation

• Direct management of the Software Test function ensuring the quality of the software released to the company’s customers


Knowledge and Experience Required:

• Experience of leading a cross-functional Engineering team to deliver world-class software-centric new products and features
• The ability to develop personal long-term relationships with senior people in-house and in major customer, supplier & partner organisations from a variety of cultures
• Proven team builder and strong hands on leader with excellent communication skills, with the ability to successfully motivate a team to deliver key business objectives
• Proven ability to successfully deliver technically complex projects in a software-oriented engineering environment on time and to budget
• A passion for Quality – visibly delivering the benefits of ISO 9001 systems

The Rewards

A salary in the range £55-65K, DOE, + benefits.
