Engineering Manager/Lead

My client designs and manufactures portable electrical test equipment to perform electrical measurements for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and commissioning across the world. They have manufacturing plants across Europe and the United States and are further expanding with a new office in central Kent.

Within that expansion, they are currently looking for an Engineering Manager to establish, lead and manage the team of Engineers at my clients brand new site.

You will be responsible for executing the new product R&D whilst aligning closely to the overall product development strategy. You will be the leader of a highly enthusiastic and talented engineering team to deliver against the strategical goals whilst maintaining a positive can-do attitude and adhering to industry best practice.

Your responsibilities will include;
-Grow and develop the multi-disciplinary engineering team
-Promote and role model the company values
-Find and develop partnerships with key outside resources
-Manage and deliver against annual and strategic goals
-Adopt industry best practice to drive continuous improvement
-Ensure all staff adhere to compliance with procedure and company policies
-Develop and maintain contacts with external stakeholders including vendors, trades and professional associations
Your Background
-Educated to degree level, minimum of a 2.1 in Engineering or similar
-Experience leading, managing and motivating technology teams
-At least 3 years' experience as a site lead
-At least 5 years' experience managing a team
-Ability to communicate with team member and the wide organisation
-Negotiation, persuasion and influencing skills
-Membership of a professional engineering institute is a desirable
