Engineering / Operations Director – in excess of £100,000 pa plus bonus and excellent benefits package
Based: England, UK
The Engineering / Operations Director will lead and direct the Operations, Performance and Planning teams, controlling and directing strategic performance processes both internally and externally to deliver against challenging targets within the rail sector. This is a high visibility, high performance role, and the Engineering / Operations Director is a key figure in the strategic direction and ultimate success of the business. The importance of the role is reflected in the generous package of salary, bonus and other benefits that will be offered to the successful candidate.
The successful Engineering / Operations Director will be educated to degree level or equivalent with significant managerial experience of railway operations. This experience will include a good understanding of Track Access Contracts, Network Code and Railway Code, together with knowledge of the Railway regulatory framework.
The Engineering / Operations Director will hold professional strategic safety and NEBOSH / IOSH qualifications. A professional qualification such as Membership of Institute of Logistics and Transport ( MCILT ), Membership of Institute of Railway Operators ( MIRO ) or similarly relevant qualifications will also be advantageous.
The Engineering / Operations Director will possess all the management skills necessary to successfully execute such a senior role and will be an exemplary communicator, problem solver and negotiator with outstanding interpersonal skills.
