Estimator

An excellent opportunity to join one of today’s leading engineering and facilities contractors as an Estimator.

The main purpose of the Estimator role is to provide estimating capability across a range of bids appertaining to mechanical, electrical and building fabric activities and to create a visible and easily understandable audit trail of the costings at time of tender, so that the company is able to manipulate the figures in light of changing requests from clients, and also to provide clarity of where the company has transferred their costs into the client’s model.

The Estimator will be responsible for the development of costings on a range of tenders, along with manipulation of spreadsheets to provide clarity with regards to allocation of costs into the client model.

The main duties of the Estimator will include:
- The provision of estimating support to the Bid Managers
- Development of cost models
- Pricing of M & E and fabric activities
- Control and adjustment of spreadsheets
- Cost build ups for tendering
- Manipulation of cost data
- Establishment of benchmark costs
- Handover of completed pricing schedules to operations
- Accountable for ensuring that our solutions are properly costed
- Accountable for the delivery of elements of bids in the format requested by the client
- Undertake discussions with clients or their advisors in establishing the final agreement
- Responsible for delivering the financial elements of a bid to meet the client deadlines in accordance with the bid programme
- Manage cost development for bids
- Responsible for retaining information appertaining to salary and other costs on a regional basis
- Responsible for assessing subcontractors submitted prices
